Showcase | Workshop Wonderland

Two weeks ago I held my Sweetlight Collective Workshop here in Southern California.

It. was. amazing. Seriously.

One of the focuses of this workshop is creating themed shoots and “Wonderland” was on the top of my list. Of course, the wonderland theme has been done before. Not to mention, there are a variety of ways to pull of a wonderland look — did I want to be using bright + funky colors or pastels? Will the models be more natural looking, or add makeup? How many of the characters will you include? The list goes on. There are so many ways to interpret this beloved story.

After making my vision board for this theme, I knew I wanted a “livingroom goes outdoors” type of looking with the colors more on the flat side.

The vintage Alice dress I purchased on Etsy (sized x-small women’s, but happened to fit her). My Mad Hatter is wear a shirt + vest from Zara.

Aside from the table, the props are all yours truly (years of collecting, with a few pieces being purchased just for this shoot).

Thanks to Sweet Emilia Jane for bringing my vision to life. I told her what look + mood I was going for + gave her a box of props to work with and she put together this magical wonderland. My favorite are the hanging frames with antique keys dangling inside each one.

A special thanks to my wonderful husband for all his help + building me my mushrooms. ♥

Until next time!

- Skye, xoxo
