Nothing says springtime quite like a maypole.
I have dreamed of doing a maypole shoot for like, hmmm, years now. Living in southern California makes it tough to get super green environment (as we speak it is mid-May and it’s already been brown here for a few weeks), but there is usually a two month window where we have both green + warmer temps.
I knew my Sweetlight Collective Workshop this past April in SoCal would be the perfect time + place to pull off what I envisioned and the workshop attendees were thrilled. We ended the two day workshop with the maypole at sunset . . . so it didn’t have the completely fully green look, but anything bathed in sunflare is my heart goes after.
For more information on joining me for a workshop, please click here. My workshops focus on styling sets and each one has five or more themed shoots for attendees to shoot (plus a few other surprises).
Thanks to Sweet Emilia Jane for the amazing flower-wreath on the maypole — the flowers were perfection!
And once again, a huge thank you to my wonderful husband for all his help + for building the maypole (by listening to my ideas and then adding in his own). Thanks babe!
Until next time!
- Skye, xoxo
