About Reverie

Reverie | a state of fanciful musing; lost in a daydream

As photographers we often believe that inspiration is like an ever-flowing fountain. Always ready to quench a weary traveler’s thirst for creativity and vision. The truth is, inspiration is more like a flower. The tender reed needs cultivating; you must not only make the effort, but be receptive to the path it may lead you on.

A virtual muse for childhood photographers Reverie is about beauty. Whether in tangible form, or the beauty that must be felt … or lived. About grace; growth and delight.

Dream | Priscilla Ahn

I was a little girl alone in my little world who dreamed of a little home for me.
I played pretend between the trees, and fed my house guests bark and leaves, and laughed in my pretty bed of green.

I had a dream
I could fly from the highest swing.
I had a dream.

Long walks in the dark through woods grown behind the park, I asked God who I’m supposed to be.
The stars smiled down on me, God answered in silent reverie.
I said a prayer and fell asleep.

I had a dream
I could fly from the highest tree.
I had a dream.

Now I’m old and feeling grey. I don’t know what’s left to say about this life I’m willing to leave.
I lived it full and I lived it well, there’s many tales I’ve lived to tell. I’m ready now, I’m ready now, I’m ready now to fly from the highest wing.

I had a dream.

Skye Hardwick | Founder

Skye Hardwick Edmonds is the emotive childhood photographer behind Work of Heart Photography™ and spent over three years teaching photography workshops around the country.  In 2009 she retired from live workshops to be able to spend more time with her family and better focus on her business. She has created “The Workshop Workbook” to continue on her teaching to photographers around the world.

She believes photography is about more than the relationship between light and shadows — there is an undeniable heart-connection between an artist and their images. This connection is essential to create images that are authentic and awe-inspiring.

Known as the children’s photographer who drags vintage furniture outdoors for sessions; Skye wholeheartedly believes an old building, complete with peeling paint, will make the perfect backdrop for a portrait.

She resides in the ever-sunny Southern California with her husband and her son, and visits  her hometown of Pittsburgh PA as often as possible. She’s a homeschooling mom with a heart for God and the countryside; on her short term goal list you would find things such as raise chickens + make goat’s milk soap.
